Researcher Scientists in Super-Resolution Optical Storage
Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences
|Salary:||£24,000 to £30,000 per annum|
|Contract Type:||Contract / Temporary|

Applications are invited for the two new researcher scientists with super-resolution optical storage to be held in Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI), Chinese Academy of Science, Shanghai, China, to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work as a team member who closely collaborate with the company to develop the next generation of technology of the optical mega data storage system, which based on dual-optical beam approach with super-resolved writing and reading of optical disk. The principle is similar with stimulated emission depletion (STED) super-resolution microscopy. The appointment will be initially for 2 years, and could become a permenant position under successful review.
The successful candidate will ideally have expertise on super-resolution imaging and applications, or strong experience on optical instrumentation of microscopy or ultrafast spectroscopy of photoluminence materials. Construction and testing of such dual-optical beam microscopy system with super-resolved writing and reading will be a key initial task for the successful candidate. The researcher will be involved at every stage of this process and it is expected that, regardless of current experience, they will acquire a wide range of additional skills especially on the materials for optical storage. Candidates will have a PhD (or close to completion) in experimental optics or photonics or have equivalent experience. The successful applicant will be based in the Research centre of quantum engineering and technology at SARI, Shanghai, under the supervision of Prof. Z. Wang. The applications are welcomed until the positions are occupied.
Enquiries and application can be made to Prof. Wang (email@example.com, or Tel: 0086-21-20350858).
