Physical and Geological Sciences in the Faculty of Science is seeking a motivated individual who has the potential for developing teaching and research in the areas of Geochemistry and Economic Geology. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Geology or related disciplines from a recognised university with a strong research and publication track record. We are especially interested in candidates who have competent knowledge in low and/or high temperature geochemistry and/or genesis of ore minerals. Candidates must have demonstrated expertise, experience and research interests in any of the fields of Geochemistry, Economic Geology or Ore Resource Geology. The successful candidate must be able to teach core and option modules in Geochemistry, as well as in Mineral Deposits and Resources of the Earth and to supervise Honours research Theses. He/She will take responsibility for classroom, field and laboratory education in this area at undergraduate (Major in Geology) and graduate levels (MSc. and PhD in Geosciences). The candidate is expected to teach primarily Geochemistry, Ore Deposits and Economic Geology, as well as to contribute in teaching of Metamorphic Petrogenesis in the undergraduate Geology curriculum. He/She will also supervise graduate research students in the MSc and PhD degree programmes and will develop and extend his/her own research portfolio. He/She is expected also to establish cross-disciplinary research collaboration with other staff members in the Faculty of Science or any other group of his/her interest.
UBD Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary range per annum: -
Lecturer (with PhD) - between BND40,680 to BND53,280
Assistant Professor / Senior Assistant Professor - between BND49,560 to BND76, 920
Associate Professor - between BND87,600 to BND90,120
Professor - between BND105,600 to BND230,400
Bonus payment after each 12 months of satisfactory service.
Gratuity payment of 25% of last drawn basic monthly salary x 36 months. Payable at the end of the contract.
No personal income tax scheme in Brunei Darussalam on income earned.
