About the role
We are currently seeking a new member of academic staff to join with us to deliver Law teaching of the highest quality.
The post is an opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher, with a sound understanding of the English legal system and the skills needed in both legal education and in the legal profession, to contribute to the teaching of Land Law and/or related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. A knowledge of Family Law would be an advantage.
For this post, the Department is seeking to build on the successful scholarship and research attributes that are already established at Derby with a view to the successful candidate being able to make a meaningful contribution to the next Research Exercise Framework. The successful candidate should possess, or be about to be admitted to, a PhD in Law or a professional qualification.
While the focus of the posts are teaching and student support, there are opportunities for research and consultancy. Law operates an holistic approach to student support and the successful candidates may take on pastoral and programme administration responsibilities. It is expected that all members of the team engage with the scholarly activity required to ensure the best quality of delivery to students.
