Chair of Economics

As part of exciting growth plans, the Department of Political Economy is looking for a Chair of Economics.

Teaching and research in the Department of Political Economy is informed by an understanding of the interdependence of economic and political institutions. We understand that analysing the ability of politics and markets to supply goods and services, and to solve social problems, requires comparative evaluation of economic and political processes and their ethical underpinnings. As a Chair of Economics you will combine excellence in teaching, at undergraduate and graduate levels, have a track record of attracting funded research, and a significant publication profile in order to make a strong contribution to the next Research Excellence Framework. You will also contribute to the intellectual and strategic leadership of the Department, ensuring the delivery of world-leading research and teaching in a thriving inter-disciplinary based department.

The Department would welcome applications from candidates with an expertise in in either macroeconomics, applied econometrics or economic history.

The salary will be paid on the Professorial scale.

This will be a full-time, indefinite post.

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.

Interviews are scheduled to be held in week commencing 20 February 2017.
