The department of Accounting, Finance and Economics is one of the largest in the UK, with over 60 members of staff. Offering a broad range of courses covering undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes, our emphasis is on flexibility, imagination, employability skills and the ability to think critically.

We have excellent relations with a range of industry bodies including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). We are also developing and delivering tailored postgraduate programmes for major clients including PwC and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Role

We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to join an academic team which already consists of almost 50 accounting and finance academic staff. The successful candidate will need to specialise in at least one of the areas of Corporate Finance or Taxation.

Supporting the Faculty in achieving our strategic objectives of enhancing our students' experience and employability prospects through innovative teaching, the postholder will be required to teach on undergraduate, professional and taught postgraduate accounting and finance programmes, and contribute, where appropriate, to commercial income generation activity. In addition you will be expected to contribute to our research and knowledge exchange activities.

Ideal Candidate

You will need to have a doctorate and be professionally qualified, preferably CCAB, CIMA or CTA qualification with a commitment to providing a high quality student experience in a University for World Class Professionals.
