Senior Principal Gifts, Development Manager, Medicine

University of Exeter - Global Engagement and Development

The University of Exeter is a leading research-intensive, Russell Group university, ranked in the Top 10 in the UK and within the top 1% of universities worldwide. In Spring 2017 the University will launch the most ambitious fundraising Campaign in its history – ‘Making the Exceptional Happen’. The University aims to raise £60 million of new philanthropic funds and leverage a further £100 million from this by 2020. The funds raised through the Campaign will enable the University to build research power to tackle global challenges and to enhance further the quality of our student experience.

A senior member of the Philanthropy Team in the University’s Global Engagement and Development directorate, the Senior Principal Gift Development Manager, Medicine, will focus on developing and implementing strategies to deliver new philanthropic support at the Major and Principal gift level for the University of Exeter Medical School and play a pivotal role in delivering the ‘health’ Campaign theme.

Your significant major gifts track record will be underpinned by your engaging and sophisticated communication style. You are confident liaising with senior volunteers and academics and working with them to leverage their networks. A passion for medical science will allow you to develop compelling cases for support and your innovative and creative approach enables you to engage supporters at the highest level; whether individuals, corporates, or Trusts and Foundations. You lead by example and can motivate a small team to succeed while engaging colleagues across the directorate and the wider University, to ensure the success of the Campaign.
