Postdoctoral Research Associate in epigenetic analysis of viral/DNA silencing

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual for a Wellcome Trust funded postdoctoral position in the group of Professor Paul Lehner at the Cambridge Institute of Medical Research on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. You will join an exciting research programme using genetic and proteomic approaches to characterise the recently identified HUSH repressor complex (Tchasovnikarova IA et al Science. (2015) 348:1481-5; Timms RT et al Cell Reports (2016) 17(3):653-659) which is responsible for the chromatin-mediated repression of newly integrated retroviruses

This post will involve the use of cutting edge genetic, biochemical and proteomic techniques to study viral host interactions. Candidates must have experience in molecular, biology, biochemistry and cell biological techniques. Quantitative and analytical skills, as well as expertise in bioinformatics are also required. If you have an excellent background in biological sciences, have published in high impact journals, are prepared to face intellectual challenges and wish to develop your scientific skills, we would like to hear from you.

Applicants should have excellent organisation and communication skills, and work well as part of a team.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
