We recently made an exciting move to new premises in the centre of Reading, which will help support the continued growth of our business.

This is a senior-level, busy and demanding role, where you will lead and manage the finance team on all group transactional, statutory and management accounting matters. Through your team you will meet the goal of providing first-class support to students and colleagues and make sure that recently implemented new systems are used to their full potential.  Financial processes need to be fully embedded and you will continue to develop the robust monthly accounting rhythm; next on your list will be financial analysis and supporting growth activities.

As a key player in the management team, you will contribute to strategy and team development and hold responsibility for a wide-range of duties, as well as overseeing multiple aspects of your team’s delivery. CCAB or CIMA qualified, with at least a first degree, the list of essentials includes:

  • Audit practice background, Financial Controller or similar experience
  • Charity (SORP) accounting experience
  • Strong leadership, management and development of people
  • Demonstrable track record in setting, managing and controlling financial budgets and cash flow forecasting
  • Strong financial systems knowledge (preferably Unit 4 Agresso with ADP payroll)
  • Overseas subsidiaries experience
  • A strong customer service focus, also with strong commercial sense
