University of Nottingham - Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit

The Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU) is seeking to recruit three high calibre researchers (this post, and two further Associate Professor posts in Clinical Trials and Clinical Trials & Translational Research) with a strong national reputation in clinical trials research.

Together these new posts are part of substantial investment in staff by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in the NCTU, and in clinical trials research in Nottingham. It offers an exciting opportunity for the post holders to play a key role in strategic development of the unit and contribute to the development of the Biomedical Research Centre, and to make a substantial contribution to establishing the NCTU and Nottingham an international centre of excellence in clinical trials and translational research.

NCTU is a UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit based in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham, with close links to the local NHS Trusts, the Institute of Mental Health and the School of Health Sciences. The unit has a large portfolio of trials across a broad range of clinical topics with studies evaluating medical devices, CTIMPs and complex interventions, and a developing programme of methodological research on how to improve the efficiency and quality of trial conduct.
