This challenging and rare career opportunity sits within Advancement - an agile and ambitious team, striving to generate philanthropic income for College and Faculty fundraising priorities. With the College’s overarching strategic goals and priorities at the fore, major fundraising initiatives include a campaign for the White City Campus, which will foster research, education and innovation, co-locating start-ups, entrepreneurs and major corporations alongside Imperial’s academic community. The genesis of our success to date has been building long lasting connections, inspiring alumni and friends about giving to Imperial, and ensuring that donors are recognised for their generosity and kept informed about the impact of their gift. We want our success to continue and at scale.
This position will work as a key gateway position for campaigns. You will be a skilled influencer and energised by working at pace. Operating in a culture of stretch goals, your strategic, operational and collaborative skills with be used to the maximum. A key aspect of this role is to raise the visibility and understanding of Advancement and Campaigns and build upon already strong partnerships and collaborations in achieving our fundraising goals and objectives.
Reporting to the Director of Development and Campaigns, you will play an integral part in the planning and organisational management of major fundraising initiatives and campaigns to secure philanthropic gifts in support of Imperial College’s highest priorities. You will be the focal point for all campaign related matters, leading the division through all phases of the process from the early design stages through the quiet phase, launch, media coverage and communications, volunteer leadership interactions/campaign committee meetings, reporting on achievement, and close of the campaign. Engagement with external advisors or consultants to develop and deliver appropriate training, materials, creative promotional tools, and events will also feature in your portfolio of responsibilities, as too will be collaborating and sharing your expertise with the team and the college on campaign management.
You will be degree educated and have in-depth, end-to-end fundraising experience to have been gained in a large matrix environment such as in higher education, a trust, NGO, political party, charity or similar environment. This experience could have been gained as a Head of Campaigns, Campaign Director, Head of Fundraising, Director of Development, Director of Fundraising, Associate Director of Campaigns or Fundraising, Director or Head of Major Gifts, Director or Head of Principal Gifts, Senior Campaign Manager or Senior Project/Programme Manager in a fundraising capacity.
