As one of the top UK Business School our research has been recognised as world leading in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). Durham University Business School is proud to be among 1% of business schools worldwide with triple accreditation – Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of MBAs (AMBA) and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
This post is in The Department of Accounting in DUBS, which is one of three ‘research-led’ departments who share the ambition to advance world changing knowledge and secure global impact through increasingly collaborative research across disciplines with colleagues in Durham University and beyond. As a department that is continuously seeking to develop challenges of both rigour and relevance, we publish our work in internationally outstanding journals and disseminate it beyond the academy.
The department consists of professionally qualified teaching fellows and research staff who are already well placed to make a strong contribution to the 2020 REF on both research and impact. We are seeking to increase the number of research staff following recent increases in student numbers particularly on our MSc Accounting degree which is in its second year.
We seek to further enhance our standing within the academic community while ensuring that our research provides even greater benefits to the accounting profession, business and the wider society. In support of our aim to build upon and improve our success, the School is developing existing strengths including investing in new Faculty to broaden our research expertise.
We are particularly seeking to recruit a research leader in financial accounting or auditing.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding international reputation for their research and an exceptional track record of academic leadership, teaching and administration. They will be expected to demonstrate the highest professional standards in both research and education, and to attract excellent research students to Durham.
