We are seeking to appoint a CBS Named Training and Competency Officer (NTCO) for the Central Biomedical Services (CBS) Department who will be based at the Hammersmith campus.
This post will involve the management of appropriate training and competency assessment programmes for those working within the in vivo research environment. You will need to liaise with NTCOs from other establishments to make sure that all licensees moving into the establishment, or proposing to work at the establishment, are trained, competent and authorised to perform licensed in vivo procedures.
You will coordinate efforts to ensure the full utilisation of all site training facilities, processes, resources (including virtual learning environments) and equipment. They will need to keep up to date on all legislation impacting the establishment’s training obligations, responding to training issues and questions from researchers and CBS staff on the application and interpretation of processes, local policies and current legislation.
You will be expected to continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficient of training services offered. A background in in vivo research and/or teaching and training is desirable.
Research performed at the College has provided important insights into the better understanding of immunology, inflammatory conditions, infections, arthritis, diabetes and cancer, as well as cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, neonatal and neurological diseases. Many of the studies have resulted in clinical trials and direct translational medical applications, producing treatments that are already being used within hospitals and A&E units to help save the lives of patients.
This post is full-time and based at the Hammersmith Campus with regular visits to other campuses as required.
