Leeds Beckett University is one of the UK’s largest universities, it is an exciting, passionate institution situated in a lively student focused city. Within the university there is a large centralised IT department responsible for the provision and support of a wide array of technologies and services across a number of campuses. Integral to the success of this department is the Service Desk, this customer facing team is the single point of contact and the front door to IT Services. This team provides the 1st line support for the university’s IT and Audio Visual systems as well as a popular media equipment loans service.
We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for customer service, a range of excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to contribute to the management and technical direction of the Service Desk Team.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operational activities of the Service Desk, contributing to the line management of staff, monitoring of service management tools and providing expert technical assistance.
The successful candidate will have high level technical proficiency in a wide range of IT/AV technologies, demonstrable experience in the support of these in a complex organisation and an understanding of IT service management principles.
