About the role:

The Lord Ashcroft International Business School is one of five faculties of our University based at Chelmsford and Cambridge. It is growing in size, ambitious and increasingly research focussed. We offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses to 4,000 students on-site and another 6,000 located within partners in the UK and around the world. These are exciting times at our Lord Ashcroft International Business School as continued growth allows further investment in new key appointments to continue our transformation to a research led and stakeholder engaged Business School.

As part of this investment there is now an opportunity to join our Department of Marketing, Enterprise and Tourism as a Deputy Head of Department and Principal Lecturer in Marketing. We're looking for an ambitious individual who seeks a challenging academic environment and wants to make a significant contribution to first class teaching and research. You’ll provide strong leadership in support of our vision, taking on agreed areas of responsibility and challenges. You’ll be responsible for the day to day running of the department with a particular focus on ensuring a positive student experience and adherence to our quality standards. You’ll plan and manage staff and student related activities in sync with our academic calendar, whilst contributing to teaching and supervision and maintaining an active research profile.

With a PhD or Professional Doctorate, you’ll be an excellent researcher with an established research reputation. You’ll have excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and networking skills with the ability to build and nurture external contacts to the benefit of the department and school.

Please note: You'll be required to undertake the role of Deputy Head of Department of Marketing, Enterprise, and Tourism until August 2018, at which point you will move into the substantive post of Principal Lecturer in Marketing.
