Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties
The School of Nursing and Health Services educates and empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals. We equip highly trained nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals with the knowledge and skills to influence health policy and service delivery. Our research is focused in the areas of long term conditions and e-health and is being undertaken in collaboration with clinical colleagues, both nationally and internationally.
Applications are invited from registered nurses, preferably with a higher degree and a teaching qualification (but not essential), to join our highly motivated team in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The post is to cover a fixed term, 10 month maternity cover, and therefore applications are welcome from individuals on a secondment basis to a WTE post or for a job share of 0.5 WTE. You will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate nursing students across the curriculum with a focus on clinical skills teaching.
You will be an experienced nurse, preferably with NMC registration on the child part of the register. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues facing nursing education today. This position is based on City Campus, but you will be expected to participate in the delivery of all aspects of the undergraduate curriculum on both the Fife and City campuses.
The School has an innovative, quality driven approach and strives to achieve excellence in learning, teaching and research. We value enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment and contribution to achieving the School’s goals and the University’s Transformation Strategy. We can offer you an inspiring and supportive environment which promotes creativity and involvement in an interesting variety of progressive learning, teaching and research activities.
The post would appeal to both individuals with experience teaching within a university setting, and clinical nurses with a desire to further develop their teaching knowledge and skills.
