The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be Grade 7: £37,936 - £41,163 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Department of Political Science wishes to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Comparative Politics to provide teaching and directorship for the MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics during a fixed period of research leave. The successful candidate will provide teaching on the core postgraduate courses “Democracy and Constitutional Design” and “Democratic Political Institutions”.The appointment also includes first and second marking of essays and dissertations, supervision of Masters’ dissertations, personal tutor responsibilities and other usual duties of teaching administration for the MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics. This is a full-time fixed term appointment available from the 1st April 2017 to 31 March 2018.
A PhD in Politics or another appropriate discipline, with demonstrated knowledge of Comparative Politics and democracy is essential, PhD candidates nearing completion will also be considered. Expertise in Comparative Politics and democracy, as well as previous experience of teaching in a related subject at postgraduate level is essential. Candidates must also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The ability to supervise dissertations using qualitative methods would be desirable.
