Computer Vision Scientist  (KTP Associate)

University of York - Computer Science and Omnicom Engineering Ltd

Based at Omnicom Engineering, York, you will lead a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Omnicom and the University of York. The project aims to develop state-of-the-art computer vision techniques for the automated inspection of complex rail track components using data collected from train-mounted cameras.

Preferably you will have a PhD in computer vision or a closely related area. A MSc degree in the same area will also be considered. Some experience of stereo and structure-from-motion algorithms will be an advantage.

You should be experienced in writing software and proficient in coding in one of Matlab, C++, Java. You will have good communication and team-working skills and an ability to work independently to provide innovative solutions. You will need to be confident presenting and explaining your solutions both to the company and to external parties.

The salary will be fixed and will be up to £29,847 per annum on Grade 5 of the University’s salary scales. There is also an additional £4,000 for training and development.

This is a University of York position, but the KTP Associate will be based at Omnicom Engineering Ltd. in York.
