Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Positions in Computer Science

Coventry University - School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics

£31,083 - £39,333 / £37,083 - £52,800 per annum

In the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics we recognise the importance of developing a strong practical insight into the subject area of one’s degree, as well as a solid theoretical foundation. This is achieved through an activity led learning approach, where the academic knowledge is cemented by practical real world examples the students can explore on their own and in groups. The school benefits from world class research groups in applied mathematics, wireless sensors, serious games and applied computing, all of which feed into our teaching and provide students with an opportunity to explore cutting edge problems.

The school’s teaching covers traditional courses such as Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computing and Computer Science, but also more specialised teaching such as Forensic Computing, Games Technology, Ethical Hacking and Network Security. Courses exist and are being developed to benefit from the synergy between the different subject areas brought together in the school. Of particular note are the existing Computer Hardware and Software Engineering BEng and the Mathematics and Data Analytics BSc courses. The School also has courses in Information Technology and Systems as well as Knowledge Management.

  • Courses are accredited by IET, BCS or IMA as appropriate
  • Strong emphasis on activity led learning and modern teaching techniques including flipped classroom and blended learning methods
  • Support from the award winning sigma Mathematics and Statistics Support Centre
  • Strong research in mathematics & physics (particularly Statistical Physics and Fluid Dynamics), advanced computing, big data, cybersecurity, serious games, wireless sensing, robotics and energy harvesting
