Junior Research Fellowship in English

The Governing Body of The Queen’s College proposes to elect to a Junior Research Fellowship in English, tenable for three years from 1 October 2017. The successful candidate will pursue a programme of advanced research in English Literature, typically leading to the publication of a book or series of articles.

The fellowship is open to graduates of any university of postdoctoral or equivalent standing, who are already engaged in independent research. Eligible candidates should have submitted their doctoral thesis and have no more than three years of postdoctoral research experience by the closing date, nor have held a research fellowship elsewhere.

The basic stipend of the fellowship, which is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme, is £22,000 (under review), plus additional allowances.

Applications should include the completed application form, covering letter, CV, and a research statement of not more than 2,000 words describing the candidate’s doctoral research and plans for the fellowship period, to reach the Academic Administrator no later than 12.00 noon on Monday 19 December 2016. Candidates should provide the names of two referees, who should be asked to send references direct to the Academic Administrator (joyce.millar@queens.ox.ac.uk) by 12.00 noon on Monday 19 December 2016.
