University of St Andrews - Residential and Business Services - Student Accommodation Services (SAS)

Student Accommodation Services (SAS) forms part of the Residential and Business Services department (RBS) within the University of St Andrews. SAS administers and manages approximately 4,000 catered and self-catered student residential places over 13 sites in St Andrews, with an additional 200 students accommodated in our managed and leased properties throughout the town. The University accommodation will increase by 400 students in 2018 and by a further 500 students in 2020/21 due to new buildings being erected to meet the university's strategic plan to grow overall student numbers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University's Student Accommodation Services (SAS) department working within a small accommodation team.

Utilising specialist software, you will co-ordinate the allocation of University accommodation and related activities throughout the year in liaison with students, parents and colleagues. It will be your responsibility to administer the process from initial enquiry to allocation and to supervise the work of others involved within that activity.

To be considered for this position you must have a flexible working approach coupled with excellent IT, administrative, interpersonal and team working skills. As the Accommodation Manager you will need to have the ability to develop extensive knowledge of specific/specialised software packages/databases. It is equally important that you have first class communication skills, both oral and written, and an excellent telephone manner. You will be expected to be proactive, positive and organised with a strong customer-orientated focus and effective management skills. In this role you must pay high attention to detail and have the ability to perform under pressure.

A panel made up of members from Residential and Business Services will carry out the interview for this role. Each applicant invited for interview will be required to complete a timed computer exercise using windows software.
