This post is on a permanent estimated hours contract.
The Student Enabling Centre (SEC) invites applications for an annual estimated hours Specialist Tutor- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) to work as part of the Disability Services Team providing highly specialist, individually tailored, non-subject specific support to students with specific learning difficulties.
You will be qualified at degree level with a qualification in SpLD support. A practicing certificate for providing diagnostic assessments for SpLD in higher education is desirable.
You should have recent experience of providing 1:1 study skills tuition to students preferably in a higher education setting. You will have an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of specific learning difficulties and of strategies to effectively develop student's skills for autonomous study in the learning environment.
You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and expectations, demonstrating a commitment to equality of opportunity. The ability to maintain clear accurate records of support sessions, work autonomously and contribute to the wider Student Enabling Team are key to the post.
You will be required to offer tuition to students at City Campus, Wolverhampton.
You will report in the interim to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator.
