Warwick Medical School (WMS) runs the largest Graduate Entry Medical programme in the UK. WMS has substantive plans to grow and develop the course and wishes to invest in early and mid career medical educators who will become the future leaders in medical education.
We seek to appoint two half time Senior Clinical Teaching Fellows in Medical Education to support the work of the academic leads for Phase 2 (year 2) and Phase 3 (years 3 and 4) of the course in addition to taking on specific responsibility for an appropriate block of teaching in Phase 2 or 3. Post holders will also support the lead for the cell and tissue biomedicine theme in developing clinical aspects of the theme including review and development of Case Based Learning (CBL) cases and assessments.
The appointments are indefinite as Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow with the specific academic role agreed with successful candidates being three year renewable.
As this post represents our investment in developing leaders in education, a programme of personal and professional development will be agreed with successful candidates which will include completion of appropriate leadership and education programmes and mentorship by an experienced clinical educator. If an appropriate Masters Degree in Medical Education is not held at the time of appointment the successful candidates will be funded for modules leading to the Warwick MMedEd whilst in post.
It is expected that the post holders will undertake clinical work with a local NHS education Provider (LEP) or WMS affiliated general practice or similar. Support will be given to applicants from outside the area to explore available options. Candidates are encouraged to discuss the posts with Professor Colin Macdougall, firstname.lastname@example.org, Head of Medical Education.
Any wishing to be considered for both posts (1.0 FTE) should discuss this with Professor Colin Macdougall prior to application.
