Magdalen College, Oxford and the Faculty of History, University of Oxford propose, if a suitable candidate applies, to appoint to an Official (Tutorial) Fellowship in History, in association with an Associate Professorship or Professorship of European History (1650-1780), with effect from 1 October 2017. This is a permanent position. Applications are invited from candidates with major research interests in European History during the period 1650-1780. The successful candidate will provide teaching in European History and will engage in scholarly research and publication. Candidates must hold a doctorate. Candidates need to demonstrate an outstanding level of research and excellence, or the potential for excellence, in teaching; be able to participate effectively in the running and development of the subject at Faculty level, and in College and Faculty administration; and have participated in conferences, seminars, and other research meetings.
