The School of Biological Sciences is seeking to recruit world-class scholars with outstanding and recognised research records in the field of biochemistry. Applicants’ research should complement the on-going activities of the School’s Microbes and Pathogen Biology, and/or Food Safety and Nutrition research themes within our School, and also align one of the University’s Global Research Institutes (GRI) or Pioneer Research Programmes. Additionally applicants should have a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and a willingness to engage in the broader administration and management of taught degree programmes.
The School of Biological Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. It is made up of three research disciplines, including Ecosystems Biology and Sustainability, Food Safety and Nutrition, and Microbes and Pathogen Biology. Most staff within the School are also members of the Institute for Global Food Security GRI: the Institute is ranked No 1 in the UK for research intensity in Agriculture, Veterinary and Food Sciences (REF 2014). The posts are available immediately to complement and extend the ongoing research and teaching programmes within the School and Institute.
