The eight most research intensive Universities in the North of England (Durham, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield & York) are working together under the £16M N8 Agri-Food programme ( As a consequence, the University has an opening for a Project Manager and Knowledge Exchange Professional. The post holder will support the Manchester Academic Lead in monitoring, managing and promoting the research activities within N8 Agri-Food (, as well as ensuring that appropriate support is available to the PIs and researchers associated with it. This will include developing and maintaining a database of capabilities and skills across the Agri-Food research area within the University, identifying opportunities as they arise from funding agencies, bringing together multidisciplinary teams for bid writing, and administering and managing the bid preparation process in liaison with the appropriate Faculty Research Support Teams. Additionally he / she will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a range of projects with a number of partner organisations, co-ordinating them from inception through to completion. This role will include the production of literature surveys and initial data to facilitate the start-up of projects.
