BEASY Ltd (A Division of Computational Mechanics International Limited) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Simulation Software Developer to join our team based in Ashurst in the New Forest near Southampton and contribute to the development of our next-generation simulation software. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the architecture, design and implementation of the product’s new computational algorithms as well as develop end-user enhancements. Specific areas of focus will be the development of areas of high performance computing, numerical algorithms, and data analysis within a Boundary Element and Finite Element framework.
BEASY offers software products and engineering services to companies and organisations in the engineering industry which are used to predict the impact of corrosion and cracks/fracture on the durability, sustainability and integrity of structures. As the project lead, you will work with staff from BEASY, assisted by academics from Bournemouth University to develop advanced computational models and high performance computing algorithms to enhance the speed of problem solving.
Your role comes with a development budget and includes leadership training.
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering simulation software components and computational models (FEM, BEM etc)
MS, PhD. or equivalent degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics
Experience in object-oriented FORTRAN software design and development
Strong numeric algorithms and data structures background
Self-starter, with high motivation. A motivator of others
An aptitude for problem-solving and discerning the physics underlying complex modelling projects
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to trade conflicting requirements to deliver optimised design
Ability to report clearly and accurately project status to key stakeholders
Understanding of risks/assumptions and methods of mitigating
In addition, experience in one (or all) of the following areas is desired:
High performance computing
Continuous integration and software development management practices
Design and development of architectural components for large scale software systems
This is a 14 month fixed term appointment and could lead to employment in the industry.
