School of Computing & Communications
Temporary for 24 months
Based in Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast or Homeworker
As an academic member of staff in the School of Computing & Communications, you will provide an important link between staff in Milton Keynes, our Student Support Team in Manchester, our part-time Associate Lecturers (distributed across the UK and Ireland) and students, located globally.
You will have a key role in ensuring we remain at the forefront of supported online and distance education, particularly in facilitating effective teaching of our Computing and IT programmes. You will be responsible for the management and development of part-time Associate Lecturers teaching Computing & IT modules.
You will have a good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in computing or a related field, and will ideally have some postgraduate study experience in computing or a closely related area.
You will have the choice of being office-based and located at one of our locations, or you will be a designated home-worker, but will still work in Milton Keynes at least one day per week. You will also need to travel throughout the UK on occasions during the working week and/or weekends.
You must be committed to the principles of equality and diversity in all aspects of your teaching and management support. Experience of online and/or distance education would be desirable.
The University is proud to have gained an Athena SWAN Institutional Bronze Award in April 2013.
