University of Warwick - Warwick Medical School, Clinical Trials Unit

Fixed Term for 2 years.

You will join an active statistics group within Warwick CTU and will provide statistical support on the design of large multi-centre randomised controlled trials, conduct analyses of datasets from the trials and contribute to the final reports. Current areas of research include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, orthopaedics, emergency care, critical care and cancer.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have a high level of statistical skills. Experience of a range of analytical methods, and of systematic reviews and meta-analyses is essential. You will have a high degree of competence using statistical packages, such as SAS or STATA, and provide input into publications in top medical journals.

You will have good communication and teamwork skills, excellent presentation skills, proven statistical and computing skills, the ability to communicate statistical issues to non-statisticians and have an aptitude for both applied and methodological research. There successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their own research ideas and they may be scope to register for a PhD/MPhil.

For appointment at Research Fellow you should have a PhD or equivalent in statistics, medical statistics, epidemiology or other relevant discipline. Applicants who are close to completion of their PhD would be initially appointed at Research Associate level with automatic upgrade to Research Fellow when the PhD is awarded.
