Professor in Child Health

University of Liverpool

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Institute of Translational Medicine
Location: University Campus
Closing date for receipt of applications: Sat, 31 Dec 2016 23:30:00 GMT

Centrally located within the City, the University of Liverpool is one of the UK’s leading research-led institutions. In close collaboration with Alder Hey, it has identified Child Health as a major priority for strategic investment and is seeking to appoint a Senior Chair (clinical or non-clinical), with relevant research expertise.

Specific interest is sought in inflammation and inflammatory-related disorders, but outstanding, internationally competitive applicants from other paediatric disease areas including infection and oncology would also be seriously considered. The Chair would be expected to significantly contribute to the research strategy of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and would therefore be required to display an outstanding track record of international excellence in research, which includes publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals of sufficient number to be competitive as a theme lead for an NIHR Biomedical Research Unit or Centre (or equivalent) role.

The University of Liverpool is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity. All employees and applicants for jobs will be considered on their abilities and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of age, caring responsibilities, colour, disability, employment status, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or any other irrelevant distinction. Training is available to support career progression within the University.

Interviews will take place on: 31 January 2017.
