An EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training on Computational Methods for Materials Science
At least 12 MPhil + PhD Studentships in the University of Cambridge in the Depts of Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Engineering & Chemical Engineering
Applications are invited for a four-year MPhil + PhD Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) Programme at the University of Cambridge which will train students in the development and application of computational methods for predicting, understanding and enhancing properties of materials.
Computational modelling plays an increasingly important role in the understanding, development and optimisation of new materials. Our CDT will train scientists not only in the use of existing modelling methods but also in the underlying computational and mathematical techniques. The CDT has the support of many industrial partners who are funding PhD places, providing industrial placements as well as being fully involved in the teaching, training and research elements of the CDT Programme.
The first year of the CDT Programme provides an education in Computational Methods for Materials Science of the highest quality at a graduate level and leads to an MPhil qualification.
