Full Time Permanent – Two positions available
Band 400 - Starting salary is normally in the range £18,589 to £19,928. With potential progression once in post to £22,939 a year.
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent position in a busy dynamic environment within Research Finance at the University of Birmingham
The post holder will provide a key service and communication point to Budget Centre Staff including Academic, Academic Related and Professorial staff. This will include advice and suggesting resolutions to a range of research financial related matters.
The post holder will also provide management and administration relating to research grants and contracts. These duties will include, amongst others, costing and pricing applications, processing offers, maintaining appropriate systems records. There will also be a requirement to invoice sponsors in accordance with funder’s terms & conditions and contract terms.
It is essential that the post holder has relevant experience within an accountancy or financial environment and ideally you will have some formal relevant training e.g. AAT or the equivalent. The post holder will possess initiative and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), be able to organize a varied workload and work to strict deadlines.
It would advantageous for the post holder to have experience of excel, Coda and Business Objects and to have worked in a demanding environment.
