Senior Accounts Clerk (Temporary Cover)

University of Cambridge - Department of Psychiatry

We are looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Clerk to join the department of Psychiatry, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. You will support our Senior Finance Officer (SFO) in coordinating all financial activity in the department, including research grant activity, general ledger, procurement and accounts administration.

You will be one of the primary points of contact for account enquiries and undertake a full range of support duties including purchasing, accounts payable & receivable as well as fixed assets and supporting the SFO with research grants including reporting and general ledger activities.

The role will require close liaison with the Business & Operations Manager for the purposes of providing financial information, planning and management, as well as all other senior and academic staff in the department, contacts with the Research Office, and central finance teams and external organisations.

The successful candidate should be a good team player with excellent communication skills. The ability to work to deadlines is important, as is willingness to take a pro-active approach to tasks.

Experience of the university finance system (CUFS) and COGNOS or other Oracle systems is desirable.
