Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is a student-led charity which exists to support students and enhance their University experience. We are a dynamic, forward thinking organisation; aiming to bring inclusive services and facilities to our members. Our members make up 17000 students from over 150 countries who are registered and study at the University of Reading.

RUSU was ranked in the top 10 in last year’s NSS. We value integrity and constantly seek to be innovative and forward thinking as an organisation. We were awarded Gold NUS Green Impact, Best Bar None and the Advice Service Alliance Advice Quality Standard. We are currently working toward Investors in Diversity and hope to achieve this in the next year.

RUSU’s Advice & Representation Department is made up of a team of dedicated staff working to build strong student representation structures, develop student representatives, increase student engagement in campaigning and other opportunities to enhance the student experience; whilst providing high quality support and advice services to our members.

Our representation work includes supporting academic representatives in schools and departments across the university. This runs alongside our aim to support RUSU’s elected full-time and part-time Officer Teams with their campaigning work, supporting diversity and integration initiatives, coordinating our 'Change It’ democratic platform and our annual programme of online elections.
