The Francis Crick Institute (the Crick) is a research institute dedicated to discovering the fundamental biology underlying human health, with the aim of improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human disease.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone that has had some experience in a busy press office or newsroom, cares deeply about science communication and will relish being part of one of the most significant UK biomedical science projects in a generation.
The Media and Communications Officer will play a key role in managing the Crick’s relations with the national and international media, and support our wider communications activity. You will create clear and compelling content across a range of channels. You will contribute to the promotion and protection of the institute’s reputation and ensure that information about science at the Crick reaches the widest possible range of target audiences.

PROJECT SCOPE/ DESCRIPTION
This is a new role reporting to the Media Relations Manager. You will help run a professional media relations function that provides first-class support to the Crick’s world-leading scientists in communicating their work and that builds on our existing relationships with the national, local and science media.
You will be part of the Communications team, which is responsible for a range of activity, including media relations, internal communications, digital communications, publications, stakeholder engagement, and (jointly with the Engagement team) events.
