The Department of Social and Political Science offers a range of taught programmes within the broad area of the Social Sciences. The Department seeks to appoint a Lecturer who can contribute to teaching on the undergraduate and postgraduate Counselling programmes and have the ability to also contribute as required to other programmes in the Department.
You will have some experience of person-centred Counselling and hold a professional accreditation such as BACP or BPS. You will hold a PhD or be willing to undertake one. You should have a thorough knowledge of theory and an ability to critically relate theory to policy and practice in Counselling.
A record of research and publication, or evidence of the potential to develop research and publication is essential. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to complement teaching within the Department and be a good team player. As well as teaching experience, knowledge of curriculum development and quality assurance procedures would be highly desirable.
You are expected to provide an excellent experience for students, and that includes having a visible presence. We are also seeking evidence of your willingness to be flexible in your approach to your work.
