Applications are invited for a Leverhulme Trust funded Research Associate/Fellow under the supervision of Dr Ross Denton in the area of chemical synthesis and catalysis. The project involves the development of new organocatalytic methods for the activation of alcohols and their application to esterification and amination reactions.
The School of Chemistry at Nottingham is one of the largest in the country with a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. Applicants should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, with considerable experience of synthetic chemistry research in an academic or industrial laboratory environment. Experience of organocatalysis and organophosphorus chemistry would be advantageous.
Postdoctoral applicants will have submitted their PhD thesis or have obtained a PhD already. Exceptional applicants who do not have a PhD, but have extensive experience of organic chemistry research will also be considered.
This full-time post is available immediately and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 7 months.
