Research Fellow (78754-116)

University of Warwick - Department of Computer Science

Fixed Term Contract for 24 months, available from 1st October 2017. Dates can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

For an ERC funded research project led by Professor Daniel Kral, we are seeking to recruit a research fellow with a strong background in one or more of the following areas: structural graph theory, theory of graph limits, extremal combinatorics and probability theory. However no previous experience with theory of combinatorial limits or extremal combinatorics is required; applications from recent PhD graduates in related areas are particularly welcome.

You will possess a PhD or an equivalent qualification in Mathematics or Computer Science (or you will shortly be obtaining it). This post is based in Department of Computer Science but a close interaction with Warwick Mathematics Institute and members of DIMAP (Centre for Discrete Mathematics and its Applications) is expected.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on Level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,453). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the Level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,301).

Candidates should provide with their application form a CV, a list of publications and a research statement.
