Open-rank position (assistant professor / associate professor / professor) in British Literature

The Department of English Language and Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, invites applications for an open-rank position in British literature.

Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in English literature, a good teaching record, and a clearly defined research agenda.  Candidates who can offer specialized teaching but also teaching across the curriculum are particularly encouraged to apply. The starting date for this post is September 2017. 

The English Language and Literature Department currently offers an undergraduate program that covers British, Irish, and postcolonial literature and ranges from the medieval period to the present day.  We would especially welcome applications from scholars with interests in the medieval period, the eighteenth century, modernism, or contemporary prose.
