Micron Assistant Facility Manager

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Facility Manager to help run the Micron Advanced Bioimaging Unit, a large cross-departmental light microscopy facility based in the Department of Biochemistry. Duties will include training users on advanced fluorescence microscopy systems, troubleshooting, ordering and maintaining equipment, assisting the facility manager and contributing to all aspects of the day-to-day running of the facility.

Applicants should possess a first degree in bioscience, physics or a related topic and should have experience in a range of light microscopy techniques and their applications in biosciences. You should also have excellent organisational skills, with an ability to set goals in an independent manner, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Previous experience working in a microscopy lab, as well as training users in microscopy and related techniques would be advantageous. 

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by a Wellcome Trust Strategic Award for up to 3 years in the first instance.
