The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBU) is an internationally renowned research institute of cognitive neuroscience. Onsite facilities include dedicated MRI and MEG scanners. The CBU is also a stakeholder in a clinical research facility and a new 7T ultra high field MRI scanner on the Addenbrooke’s campus in Cambridge.
A postdoctoral position is available to develop computational modelling using techniques from machine-learning. The post-holder will provide training, advice and assistance to members of the CBU wishing to develop skills in this area, and will attempt to foster collaboration with members of Cambridge University Engineering Department who share similar interests. The post-holder will be expected to undertake their own original research in collaboration with other members of the CBU.
This is a fixed term position, for two years.
You will have, or be in the final stages of, a PhD related to engineering or computer science, with experience of research using machine-learning methods. You will have demonstrable skills in programming (e.g. Linux, Matlab, Python). Experience in cognitive or neuroscientific computational modelling, Bayesian modelling and/or neural network modelling would be an advantage. You will be thorough, efficient, effective, a good communicator, and enjoy working as part of a diverse and energetic, interdisciplinary team.
