Building Performance Analyst (KTP Associate)

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications Full Time, Fixed Term - Researcher

This is a fixed-term appointment for 34 months

You will be responsible for:

  • implementation and day-to-day running of the Innoavte UK funded KTP project on assessing the risk of overheating in new-build housing and extra-care settings
  • review of existing evidence and data, develop tools for data collection related to overheating in homes
  • undertaking two rounds of monitoring, survey and analysis of new build homes and extra-care homes
  • conducting thermal modelling and analysis using future climate
  • development of solutions including web app, online tool, consultancy service and training material
  • producing peer-reviewed publications including refereed journal articles on the project findings
  • establish service definitions and pricing plans for a range of new consultancy services and training courses
  • formulating the marketing plan, to include promotional materials, for web app, online tool and associated training courses
  • extending own learning and experience;
  • safeguard the project's legacy through production of a fully documented product and service delivery cycle flowchart and manual.

You should have:

  • a higher degree (MSc/MPhil/PhD) in architectural engineering, building services, architecture, physics or a closely related subject.
  • experience of using dynamic thermal simulation packages such as IES
  • experience of undertaking monitoring and/or post-occupancy evaluation of housing
  • advanced knowledge of building physics
  • experience of undertaking analysis of big datasets
  • experience of designing and analysing questionnaire surveys
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • experience in project management
