The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invites applications from accomplished researchers for a Professorship in Accounting. Applications are welcomed in all fields of accounting. This post is part of LUMS efforts to further strengthen its academic standing as a world class business school
Accounting and Finance is one of the largest departments within LUMS - a world-ranked international business school which has topped the UK research rankings for nearly two decades. LUMS is one of few business schools whose programs are accredited by all three international business school accreditation bodies: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), Lancaster University Management School was ranked top business school in the UK for 'research power', and 80% of our research activity was judged to be world-leading or internationally excellent. The Department of Accounting and Finance provides an excellent research environment, including generous research budgets, subscriptions to state-of-the-art databases, and partnerships with top US and European schools for short-term visiting positions.
Applicants for should have a distinguished international research profile in Accounting as attested by volume and quality of publications in top and high quality international journals, citations, a track-record of securing external funding and managing research projects, engagement with international research networks, and other strong evidence of esteem indicators such as editorships of journals, editorial review boards, invitations to address international or national conferences. All applicants must have a PhD in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and a track record of competent teaching. The successful candidates will be expected to play a leadership role in the further development of the accounting and finance group at LUMS.
