The position is located within the Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in the Faculty of Education. ESRI is one of the leading UK centres for applied educational research and evaluation, and a thriving research community.
We are international research leaders the fields of STEM education, early childhood education, youth and community, teacher education research, and in the development of theory and methodology in educational and social research.
The Faculty of Education is one of the UK’s leading, internationally excellent education centres, ranked 15th in the Guardian Good University Guide for 2017. 67% of our research was rated internationally excellent or world leading in REF2014, with 100% of our research impact case studies being rated similarly. Around 4,000 students study with us in Manchester and Cheshire and we work in partnership with over 1,500 schools, colleges and other organisations.
We are looking for an experienced and successful postdoctoral researcher to support proposal writing across the Faculty, but particularly to support Professors and Readers in preparing bids for external funding.
The work will include literature searches and reviews, development of impact strategies, and liaison with potential research funders, as well as more focussed preparation and drafting of tender documents.
Support with organising international conferences may also be required. The appointed candidate will be able to develop a wide range of national and international research links.
The successful candidate will support all aspects of proposal writing and submission to attract external research and consultancy funding.
An educational researcher or social scientist with a doctorate in a relevant field, with successful experience of educational and social research.
