Founded in 2003, HYMS is a collaboration between the Universities of Hull and York and the NHS. It provides access to a wide range of imaging modalities, including a major PET-CT clinical scanning facility, which will combine high quality patient scanning and new radiopharmacy facilities with its own cyclotron providing a unique model for per-patient dose production. In 2017, the Molecular Imaging Centre at Castle Hill Hospital will be the first site worldwide to receive the new GE Healthcare GENtrace mini-cyclotron.
HYMS is seeking an individual to develop a personal research programme of international cancer imaging in an aspect of PET-CT / MRI that will underpin and enhance the research interests of the existing team in the HYMS Centre for Cancer Studies. The successful applicant will be able to secure competitive grant income and deliver high quality outputs. The post holder will also contribute to the HYMS undergraduate curriculum, with particular reference to the SSIP (Scholarship and Special Interest Programme), and supervise MD/PhD students.
