Student and Academic Services (SAS) provides a wide-range of services and support to students and academic staff. Our student services span the complete student lifecycle from enquiry, through enrolment and on-course support, to graduation and beyond. Our academic services include direct support for academic staff in many aspects of their work, and portfolio support spanning the course lifecycle, from planning and approval, through to curriculum anagement and programme review. Our ambition is that the services we provide should be sector-leading, adapted to meet the needs of our University, and sufficiently flexible to respond rapidly to changing requirements.

Marketing, Communications and Development is an award-winning team, providing expertise in marketing and communications across Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as managing the University’s profile and presence externally. Our remit encompasses Press and Public Relations, Web and New Media, Corporate and Faculty Marketing, Events, Public Engagement, Alumni and Development, and Design and Photography. We play a crucial role in ensuring communication materials and activities are fully integrated to maximum effect, reinforcing internally and externally the University’s brand, reputation and strengths.

Humanities, Languages and Social Science (HLSS) is home to a thriving community of creative thinkers, specialising in disciplines that shape the modern world. We have international experts in creative writing, history, politics, philosophy and languages among many other subjects. Our distinctive programmes nurture the independent thinking, communication and evaluation skills that allow students to achieve global career success. HLSS is part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Role

We are seeking a highly experienced marketing professional who is looking for a challenging and exciting role with the opportunity to manage a significant area of marketing activity whilst working as part of a high-performing faculty and corporate team.

Based in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, you will plan and deliver marketing campaigns and initiatives to drive applications and raise the Faculty's profile. You will line-manage the Faculty Marketing Assistant.

Ideal Candidate

You will be a proactive, hands-on and technical literate marketer with excellent all-round marketing skills including advertising, media relations and PR, publication production, copywriting, design management and events.

Experience of working in higher education and of providing strategic planning and operational support is essential.
