The Department of Micro and Nanosciences at the Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Fellow to join the research unit of Electronic Circuit Design. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher or a Research Fellow to carry out research and project management responsibilities in microelectronics design. The selected person will participate in research, take responsibilities in research projects as a project manager/coordinator and have some teaching responsibilities. Applying for project funding will be part of this position.

Our research is closely linked to industry and practical challenges faced by the industry. We also collaborate with the leading institutions in the field: Berkeley Wireless Research Center, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (California), Lund University, and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (Finland).  We expect the candidate to contribute on various research topics related to our research portfolio.

Detailed emphasis between various research, management and teaching topics depend on the applicant´s background and is defined before entering to the group.

We expect the suitable candidate have doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering and hands on experience in IC design (simulations, layout, measurements). Acquired skills can be in Millimeter waves or in RF, analog, mixed mode designs including DSP accelerators. Our ideal candidate has experience in project coordination responsibilities and has strong interpersonal skills. Publications on IEEE forums (conferences and journals/transactions) are valued. Acquired research funding and participation in writing the funding applications is regarded as merits.

The Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Fellow position will be filled for 1-3 years. The expected starting salary for Postdoctoral Researcher is approximately 3500 €/month and for a Research Fellow approximately 4000 €/month, both depending on experience and qualifications. Salary will increase with responsibilities and performance over time. The contract includes occupational health benefits and Finland has a comprehensive social security system. Preferable starting time is early 2017.
