Alumni Relations Manager, International and Volunteering

Henley Business School, University of Reading, is a world-renowned international business school operating in 17 countries and ranked among the top schools in Europe. The Development, Alumni & External Engagement Office manage the calendar of events, communications and volunteering opportunities for the network of over 72,000 Henley alumni in more than 150 countries. The team is also responsible for encouraging philanthropic support from alumni, friends and organisations.

In addition, the Alumni Relations and Development team also manage the Reading Real Estate Foundation (RREF), a unique and forward-thinking educational charity, established to support real estate and planning education at the University of Reading.

We need a business-focused individual to join a fast-paced external-facing team to pro-actively develop and manage the delivery of our International Alumni Relations programme. This will include communications, events, and supporting fundraising activities, as well as identifying, developing and managing relationships with key alumni volunteers involved with Henley Business School’s International Alumni Associations and Groups.

You need to have a dynamic personality and the confidence and professionalism to deal with enquiries from alumni and senior level business figures on a daily basis and need to have the experience of working in a customer facing role and with volunteers, preferably in an international environment. Experience of successfully managing high quality events and communications programmes is also essential.

You will have:

  • Experience of working effectively in an alumni- or member- or customer-facing role, preferably in events, fundraising or marketing.
  • Excellent communications skills and experience of planning, writing and using multiple communications channels.
  • The creativity and flair to contribute to the further development of the Alumni Relations Programme.
  • High level administrative and organisational skills, including keen attention to detail.
  • Experience of setting project budgets and delivering projects to budget.
  • Experience of CMR databases and maintenance.
  • The skills and ability to interact with people at all levels.
