Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Offering courses in art, design, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we serve. Our courses range from preparation for higher education to postgraduate level, including Study Abroad and short courses.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Academic Support Tutor within Student Services.
The Academic Support team delivers a full range of academic and study support to all students, with specialist support for those with specific learning difficulties, The ethos of the service is to work within a developmental model which builds on individual strengths and skills, and which explicitly seeks to avoid a deficit model of support linked to the characteristics of particular student groups.
The successful candidate will be an experienced SpLD teacher who will ideally hold a current practising certificate in assessing specific learning difficulties, and is able to demonstrate a strong understanding of SpLD assessment and support, and accessible learning and teaching, with a proven track record in service development and improvement.
