Staffing & HR Administrator

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced administrator to become part of a small, dedicated team. Led by the Staffing and HR Manager, this office provides an effective, customer focused staffing and human resources service to all staff within the UCL School of Pharmacy. The post holder will be expected to provide an excellent level of support to staff across the Division and in working to achieve this, will play a key role within the Staffing & HR Team. Main tasks will include processing payments for casual staff, setting up honorary appointments, assisting recruiting managers with recruitment, selection and staff appointments, setting up staff appointments, processing contract and funding extensions, change of hours, one off payments, honorary appointments, providing specific and accurate advice to Divisional staff on aspects of UCL HR Policy and procedure including: staff recruitment & selection, Right to Work including Certificates of Sponsorship, applications/renewals, staff probation and appraisal systems, annual leave/sickness reporting, staff increments, termination process, maternity and paternity leave, work/life balance and more.

The post holder must have a good standard of education - qualified to GCE ’A’ level standard or equivalent, a good working knowledge of MS Office, demonstrable experience of human resources administration, the capacity to work autonomously and accurately and the ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve objectives on time. The successful applicant will be a team player and creative problem solver with excellent inter-personal/communication skills both oral and written. The successful applicant will be expected to have a flexible approach to work and willing support other team members. As a Staffing & HR team member you will be approachable and helpful with experience of providing positive and responsive customer service. Knowledge of working in an educational environment would be an advantage.
