We are seeking an exceptional, enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Cell Biology possessing experience in protein biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology, with the ability to work to a high standard.
Dr Christianson’s research group at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University of Oxford, is focused on understanding the role that protein quality control mechanisms play in tumour growth, suppression and metastasis, with the overall aim being to identify novel points of therapeutic intervention for cancer.
As Postdoctoral Research Scientist for Cell Biology you will possess experience in biochemistry of ER-resident integral membrane complexes. A PhD degree in cell/molecular biology, biochemistry or related discipline (or be near completion) or equivalent would be required.
You will have a good understanding of mechanisms of protein biogenesis in eukaryotes. Previous laboratory experience, good communication skills, attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The research project available will involve a wide range of basic and advanced molecular/cellular biology and biochemical techniques, including but not limited to protein purification, cell culture, radiolabeling, FACS and mass spectrometry. Publication/s in internationally recognised journals would be an essential requirement.
Previous and relevant experience in ubiquitin-proteasome biology, protein quality control or protein trafficking is highly desirable.
